Summary
If you're interested in building your own speaker, I highly recommend first checking out my the Ammo Box Speaker V1. The first version was a great success, but I wanted to push the boundaries further. The result is the Ammo Box Speaker V2, designed with one key goal in mind: more bass and overall sound a bit better/louder.
In this version, I started with a fresh ammo box, opting to keep the original intact. I upgraded the amplifier and continued using a reliable lithium battery. The real game-changer was the addition of a mid-tone speaker, necessary for delivering the deeper bass that the first version lacked.
I also incorporated two JBL speakers from an old 5.1 setup, giving them a new purpose in this project.
